Kids are going back to school and the summer clothes are going back in the closet. Before you start planning for the fall, let’s look back on the epic summer we had under the tent.
We kicked the summer off with a busy June. We had the Wailers and Rusted Root, Joe Nichols, Lucinda Williams, the Irish Festival featuring Gaelic Storm, Steve Miller Band, Mary Chapin Carpenter and the Cape Symphony.
The Wailers, Rusted Root and the Adam Ezra Group all gathered on stage to sing Rusted Root’s iconic hit “Send Me on My Way”
Jonny Lang at the Melody Tent co-headlining with the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band.
Lucinda Williams wowed crowds with her gritty vocals.
Rock legend Steve Miller played his best loved hits for our Father’s day crowd.
We welcomed Conductor Jung Ho Pak and the Cape Symphony back to the tent this summer with two more stunning vocalists. This year they regaled us with the best of Broadway.
Lee Brice kicked off our Fourth of July weekend with two amazing shows.Β The Cape Cod TimesΒ came out to the second night.Β
Once again, we supported the Military Friends Foundation. this year Lee Brice helped support Military Families.
July continued with a sold out show withΒ Pink Martini and singer China Forbes creating an extra-special evening.
Comedians Paula Poundstone, Lewis Black and Jeff Foxworthy kept us laughing.
Paula Poundstone fans can hear her onΒ Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me on Cape Cod’s own NPR station – WCAI.Β
Lewis Black brought his Rant is Due: Part Deux tour to Hyannis.
August brought Tower of Power, Lyle Lovett and His Large Band, a sold out show with Joe Bonamassa, two spectacular performances by Hunter Hayes, a trip down memory lane with Loretta Lynn and a show-stopping season finale with Melissa Etheridge.
Tower of Power started August with their funky sound.
Lyle Lovett and His Large Band kept it going with stunning vocals and an eclectic sound.
Melissa Etheridge closed out the season and brought down the house at the end of the month. We’re not the only ones who thought she rocked the tent. The Cape Cod Times agreed.Β And fans agreed. Check out these tweets (and Melissa’s #melfie!)
As the tent comes down in Hyannis and 2015 comes to an end, we are looking forward to ringing in 2016 with an exciting calendar filled with world-class entertainers, fun childrenβs shows and of course, our continued commitment to supporting local Cape Cod non-profit organizations. None of this would be possible without our fans who continue to support the Music Circus. 2016 club memberships are now on sale; donβt miss the opportunity to enjoy early ticket sales and promotions.
