February 25th fun music facts of the day

George Harrison of The Beatles was born on February 25th, 1943. Harrison was the guitarist and a vocalist for the worlds most popular band. In 1956, Elvis Presley had his first national hit when his song “I Forgot To Remember To Forget” went to #1 on the Billboard Country & Western chart. In 1964, February 25th belonged to The Beatles as they recorded three singles at Abbey Road Studios in London. They recorded “Can’t Buy Me Love”, “You Can’t Do That” and “I Should Have Known Better.” February 25th 1972 was the day that Led Zeppelin played the largest concert in the history of New Zealand. It was their first trip to the island and they played a sold out Western Springs Stadium in front of 25,000 fans. Van Halen’s smash hit “Jump” began a five week run at #1 on the US Singles chart on this day in 1984. This day in 1995 saw Madonna’s “Take A Bow” that she co-wrote with Babyface start a seven week stint at #1 on the charts. The same day, Frank Sinatra sang his last song in front of a live audience.
